Officer Careers

Officer prepares to bring in fire support

Life in the Royal Welsh as an Officer offers challenges and opportunities you will not find anywhere else.

After completing your officer training at Sandhurst, your first challenge will be commanding a platoon of Royal Welsh soldiers.

By their Welsh character and traditions, the Royal Welsh soldiers and officers are a tight  knit family group and you will become part of a unique Regiment with a long distinguished history and links to towns and villages all over Wales.

Commanding Royal Welsh soldiers is a privilege - they deserve only the best.

If you are interested in becoming an Officer and being in charge of a Platoon of 32 men visit your local Army careers office for further information.
