We can help

This page is about two things - confidential advice and confidential financial help.  If you are not sure what to ask for, contact your nearest Regimental Headquarters office (see 'Contact Us' on the left) and we will provide impartial advice in the strictest confidence.

Financial Help

Did you serve in the King's Own Royal Border Regiment, the King's Regiment, the Queen's Lancashire Regiment or one of their predecessor Regiments?  Did a member of your family serve in the King's Own Royal Border Regiment, the King's Regiment, the Queen's Lancashire Regiment or one of their predecessor Regiments?  (See the list below).

The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment Regiment has charitable funds which can be used to help eligible persons in cases of need.  Some of these funds come from income from Regimental investments, but most importantly from the generosity of the serving Kingsmen and their officers, who volunteer to pay a day's pay each year into the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment Charity.

If you need help and you think that you may be eligible to request support from the Regiment, then you should straight away phone your local Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen's Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help Office (phone numbers in your phone directory) or see their web page here.

Alternatively you can contact the local County Field Officer of the Royal British Legion.  Again the number is in the phone book.  Details of the Royal British Legion's Welfare support are given here.

The SSAFA Forces Help office or the Royal British Legion County Field Officer will arrange that you are visited and your need discussed.  If you are eligible, your details will be forwarded to the Regiment.  The Regiment's benevolence committees will then make a decision and you will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible.

Finally, do remember that our funds have been provided by the personal generosity of our soldiers.  They are charitable in status and can only be given out in cases of clear need to eligible applicants.

The predecessor Regiments of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment were:

The Border Regiment
The King's Own Royal Border Regiment
The King's Regiment (Liverpool)
The Manchester Regiment

The East Lancashire Regiment
