12 - The receipt and exercise of the Freedom of Knowsley on 12th September has been postponed to 18th October.

12 - Northern Ireland Veterans' Association Service of Remembrance at the National Memorial Arboretum at 11.30 a.m. Saturday 12th September.  Go to www.nivets.org.uk for further information.

18 - The Preston Branch of The Kings Regiment Association are hosting a Veterans Dinner/Disco on 18th September, commencing at 1900hrs for 1930hrs, in the WOs and Sgts Mess Fulwood Barracks, Preston.

18 - Malayan Veterans Association of the Manchester Regiment Annual Dinner to be held in Ashton-under-Lyne Town Hall, 7.30 p.m. for 8 p.m.

October

2 - Warrington Branch Hotpot Supper.

3 - Memorial Service for Major General Hamish Rollo CBE to be held at 11.00 a.m. in Manchester Cathedral. Please be seated by 10.45 a.m.

4 - Regimental Memorial service at Warrington Parish Church followed by reunion lunch.

17 - The Regiment will lay up the 1978 Colours of the 1st Battalion the King's Regiment and the 1938 Colours of the 1st Battalion the Liverpool Scottish in Liverpool Town Hall on 17th October.

17 - Dedication of the Nelson War Memorial, the War memorial has names from all our former Regiments.  The Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire will be attending.  Assembly for the day will be in the Memorial gardens outside the Town Hall.

18 - The Regiment will receive and exercise of the Freedom of Knowsley

18 - Dedication of the new Branch Standard Bolton.  Parade at Bolton Parish Church at 10.15 a.m.  Church service at 10.30 a.m. followed by lunch in the Masonic Hall at 310 a head.  Returns to Mr Lowe of the Bolton Branch (contact through RHQ) by 30 September.

20 - Regimental Council Meeting in Liverpool on 20th October.

21 - MROA Crimea Luncheon, Army and Navy Club, Pall Mall, London.

28 - The King's Regiment Cup run at Haydock Park Race Course - note the change of date.
