The 2nd Battalion
The 2nd Battalion is based with its families in Episkopi in Cyprus and from there has deployed regularly to Afghanistan.
The 2nd Battalion (2 LANCS) is a Regular Army battalion, based until September 2011 with its families in Episkopi in Cyprus. It has now moved to Weeton Barracks in Lancashire. 2 LANCS is a Light Role Battalion trained and equipped for fast, flexible operations, moving in a variety of transport including helicopters. From August 2009 until November 2010, the 2nd Battalion carried out high intensity operations in Afghanistan as the Theatre Reserve Battalion.
