Recruiting Profile - Rifleman Saroj Gurung

I knew that the British Army was the top most army in the world and that every year thousands try to make it in.

Therefore, I also knew how hard it would be, but we Gurkhas have been a part of it for nearly 200 years. Our forefathers were able to make it  through selection and therefore so could I.

I had trained very hard before the selection and found the physical tests ok but was more worried about having to complete the education and  most of all the interviews.  The old  Recruiting Officer Sahebs are very strict and you have to be very honest with them.

Anyone not  suitable by their standards fails straight away.  I was so proud to have got through this first stage in Nepal and the attestation parade in Pokhara was a very proud moment for me and my family
