Officer Recruiting
All Officers attend the 44-week Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). During the course you will learn all the skills necessary to become an Officer in the British Army.
On graduation from RMAS, all Infantry Officers then attend a 12-week Platoon Commanders' Battle Course held at the Infantry Battle Schol (IBS) in Brecon. The course covers Platoon tactics and ends with an overseas exercise to test candidates' knowledge and confirm their readiness to command Infantry soldiers.
The course is demanding - but Officers leave with a high standard of fitness, ready to lead troops on Operations throughout the world.
If you are interested in a career as an Officer in The Royal Irish Regiment e-mail the Regimental Secretary at RHQRIRISH-REGT-SEC@mod.uk to find out more.
