Regimental Headquarters

The Regimental Headquarters of The Yorkshire Regiment (RHQ YORKS) is located in York and is charged with the effective running of the regimental affairs of The Yorkshire Regiment.

We also have three Area Offices, which are an integral part of RHQ YORKS and are subordinate to the Director of Infantry at Headquarters Land Command.

Mission

With its focus on Officer recruiting and support to soldier recruiting, the lead on marketing and communications and with financial probity, RHQ YORKS is to support all elements of the Regimental family, serving and retired, in order to enhance the effectiveness of the Yorkshire Regiment and ensure its long term future.

Objectives

RHQ YORKS is manned by a combination of retired officers and civil servants responsible for a wide range of tasks with particular emphasis on the following:

Maintaining community links of the Army as a whole, and The Yorkshire Regiment in particular, within the Regimental recruiting area
Officer recruiting
Supporting the Regiment when any of the Battalions are deployed on operations by providing a home link and support to the families of deployed Regular and Territorial soldiers
Caring for the welfare of ex-Regimental members of all ranks, and their dependants
Maintaining links across the wider Regimental family: Regular; Territorial; Cadets; Associations and their families
Maintaining the physical and historical heritage of the Regiment, and promoting that heritage across the wider community, through the Regimental Museums and education programmes
