Based at the Infantry Training Centre Catterick, The Gurkha Language Wing (GLW) delivers language training and education services to the Brigade of Gurkha units worldwide.

The qualifications delivered by GLW equip Brigade Officers and soldiers with the language skills they need to operate effectively alongside multinational forces.

Highly resourced and staffed by committed teachers, the Wing provides a caring and supportive learning environment in which the confidence and skills of all students are developed.

Studying with the Wing can improve career prospects, open up new perspectives and increase a Gurkha's understanding of both Nepali and English.

The courses on offer include 

• Recruit English Programme - for Gurkha Recruits
• Post Recruit Training - for QGE and QOGLR trainees
• Standard Language Profile (SLP) Levels 2 and 3 (English) - for trained Gurkha soldiers
• Nepali Language Courses - for British Officers

GLW also undertakes educational assessments during the recruiting of Gurkhas in Nepal.
