Battle Back Sport
There are five winter and 19 summer Paralympic sports (the individual and team sports that are contested at a Paralympic Games.)
If a disabled person would like to participate in a specific sport - Paralympic or otherwise - and is medically fit to do so, Battle Back will help them to access that sport. This may be through the Battle Back Core programme of activities, with a Service sport Club, Association, Union or with a local civilian club. In every sense, this is no different to the choices available to an able-bodied sportsman or woman.
The main activities include:
- Paralympic talent ID days
- Sports camps and tours
- Battle Back training events
- Battle Back competitions
- Participation in partnered activities specifically for injured/disabled personnel (eg sailing with Toe in the Water, competitive skiing with the Combined Services Disabled Ski Team etc.)
- Participation in integrated service sporting programmes alongside able-bodied athletes (eg Army Swimming, RAF Volleyball, Infantry Sailing etc.)
