Army Sports Lottery

The Army Sports Lottery (ASL) has a weekly first prize of £10,000 and many other cash prizes too!

It was established in September 1993 to provide additional non-public funds for sport, to enhance those available from other sources.

It is registered with the Gambling Commission and is administered by the Army Sport Control Board (ASCB) which has charitable status. The licence from the Gambling Commission only allows profits to be spent on sport.

The aim of ASL is to support:

  • individual soldiers, officers and teams competing on overseas tours/visits
  • Olympic, world, Commonwealth Games and other international competitors
  • winter sports competitors
  • the Trust Fund
  • other sporting activities

ASL is a series of weekly lotteries.  Tickets cost 75p each per week with a maximum of five tickets per person. Winners are determined by a random number selector system.  The draw is made every Monday and is independently witnessed.
