A Career as a Chaplain

The Army employs male and female chaplains in the Regular Army, the Territorial Army, and the Army Cadet Force. It also engages some local civilian clergy as Officiating Chaplains.   • Regular Chaplain

    Chaplains provide Spiritual, Moral and Pastoral support to all regular, full-time soldiers and their families, irrespective of religion or belief.

  • Territorial Army Chaplain

    Territorial Army (TA) Chaplains provide Spiritual, Moral and Pastoral support to all TA soldiers and their families, irrespective of religion or belief.

  • Army Cadet Force Chaplain

    ACF chaplains come from the main denominations, and work amongst 50,000 teenagers across the UK.
