Warrant Officer Class 2 Allen AAC

WO2 Allen AACWO2 Bruce Allen joined the British Army in 1991. After serving as a Ground Crewman in the Army Air Corps (AAC), WO2 Allen completed the Army Pilot Course in 1998 and was posted to 3 Regiment Army Air Corps as a Gazelle pilot. He converted onto the Apache aircraft  in 2006 and returned to 3 Regt AAC at Wattisham, where he completed four operational tours in Afghanistan as an Air Mission Commander and a Weapons Instructor.

 In 2008 WO2 Allen was awarded a Mention in Dispatches for his actions in Helmand Province. During 2011 he was selected to be the Apache display pilot for the season before attending the Qualified Helicopter Instructor (QHI) Course. WO2 Allen was posted to the Army Aviation Centre, Middle Wallop, as an instructor for the Apache aircraft until 2014 and is now the Squadron QHI for 663 Squadron Army Air Corps.

WO2 Allen has flown operationally in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Afghanistan and on exercise in Belize, Kenya, Cyprus, Germany and the United States of America. He has completed 4500 flying hours of which over 2000 hours are on the Apache aircraft.
