6 Regiment Army Air Corps

Role of 6 Regiment Army Air Corps

6 Regiment Army Air Corps is the Reserve Regiment of the Corps. It provides trained groundcrew reinforcements who are able to deploy on operations and in support of exercises worldwide. Reserve personnel work alongside their Regular military colleagues on aircraft such as the Apache and Lynx Mk 9A, undertaking rearming and refuelling tasks. 679 Squadron AAC

679 (The Duke of Connaught's) Squadron Army Air Corps is located in Hampshire (Portsmouth and Middle Wallop), created by the renaming of 655 Sqn AAC and the subsequent transfer of D Company 3 Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment to the Corps. The Squadron is paired with the Army Aviation Centre at Middle Wallop where it provides ground support to the Apache.
