The last 24 months have seen three sub-unit deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan in a variety of different roles. The last two years have been incredibly busy.
21 Air Assault Battery completed an infantry tour of the Helmand Province in 2006 and 25/170 Battery provided the Mini UAS surveillance capability to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
21 Air Assault Bty are currently deployed on this task to be replaced by 10 (Assaye) Bty later in 2008.
In the first half of 2008, 10 (Assaye) Battery completed a six month period of ceremonial duty at Buckingham Palace. A once in a life time opportunity for both male and female soldiers to experience something more commonly associated with the Guards and Cavalry.
