Soldier Profile
"I was born and raised in Norwich and joined the Army in 2000, where I joined the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. I was posted to Germany for two years with the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and went on operations with them to Iraq. I was then posted to 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery Workshops where I spent 3 years. In this time I completed the All Arms Commando Course and Arctic Warfare Course and deployed on Op Herrick 5 to Afghanistan.

I then transferred to the Royal Artillery itself because I wanted a more challenging and exciting job. I was trained as a gun coverer (this is part of a six man team) in which I was deployed to Op Herrick 9 Afghanistan. I am currently training to be a Gun Number 1 which means I will command my own detachment. We are due to deploy back to Afghanistan next April where I will carry out my duty as a number one in a Forward Operating Base (FOB).
Regimental life in whole is exciting, challenging at times but is very rewarding working with such a high calibre of soldier. During my time here I have been to Norway, Germany and Belize on either exercises or adventure training. Being located on the doorstep of Plymouth city centre you never have to go far for a good night out with your mates. I'm looking forward to my 14 years left of service within this regiment".
