Honourable Artillery Company (HAC)

Antarctic Expedition
The HAC has a demanding and vital role in the British Army. Its soldiers are trained as surveillance and target acquisition specialists with skills in covert intelligence gathering, communications and logistics.
Why choose the HAC over any other Territorial Army Unit?
- The HAC is the oldest regiment in the British Army.
- HAC soldiers are privileged to perform ceremonial duties in the City of London including firing of Royal Salutes at the Tower of London and providing Guards of Honour for visiting Heads of State.
- The HAC has its TA base at magnificent Armoury House in the heart of the City of London.
- The six acre Artillery Garden at Armoury House means sporting facilities that are second to none. Whether your interest is cricket, football, rugby, squash, golf, riding, hockey, shooting, parachuting or ski-ing we have a team that will welcome you.
- The HAC offers a fantastic year round social calendar.
- Once you become a fully fledged member of the Regiment you will receive free membership to the flagship Holmes Place gym which is located on site.
- Most importantly, we offer an exciting antidote to your day job and a challenge you will not find anywhere else.
For the right people, we offer all this and more:
- The chance of adventure
- New challenges
- Opportunities to learn skills rarely taught outside the military
- A fantastic social life, camaraderie and the opportunity to form life-long friendships
- Excellent training that will bring you to the peak of physical fitness
- The development of transferable skills such as leadership, time management and teamwork
- The opportunity to be part of something bigger, to do "your bit" for your country and put something back
- There are many other valuable jobs also available to men and women equally, such as signallers, drivers, clerks, intelligence specialists, chefs, medics and vehicle mechanics. Our soldiers attain skills and qualifications useful in everyday life such as car & LGV driving, food hygiene, IT, first aid and car maintenance.
- Soldiering with the HAC is great fun and exciting with new challenges and experiences not available in normal everyday life. It helps develop self confidence.
- There are many opportunities to serve on an overseas operational tour with members of the HAC or with other regiments. This should be something you aspire to do at some stage in your time at the HAC.
- Sporting and adventurous training opportunities available in the HAC are second to none. Members of the regiment are also entitled to free membership of the Virgin Active gym located in our grounds.
- Our soldiers come from a variety of backgrounds but have much in common in terms of self motivation, intelligence and ambition. This delivers good teamwork and long term friendships.
- All HAC soldiers are in one location with modern facilities but with a strong sense of history as well.
- Our ceremonial role is important as it gives us visibility in the city outside the army and a sense of pride in service.
- The HAC's income is solely generated for the charitable purpose of "setting out of soldiers". The company provides welfare services to its members - both active and veteran.
Accept No Compromise - Join the HAC and Be the VERY Best.
