104 Regt RA(V)
Tactical Unmanned Air Vehicle (TUAV)
104 is the Territorial Army's only Tactical Unmanned Air Vehicle (TUAV) Support Regiment. 104 Regiment Royal Artillery (Volunteers) came into existence on 1st April 1967 with Headquarters at Raglan Barracks, Newport, as a result of the establishment of the Territorial Army and Volunteer Reserve which was the replacement for the traditional Territorial Army. With 217 Battery (Regimental Headquarters) in Newport, the Regiment originally comprised of 210 Battery in Wolverhampton and 211 Battery in Newport.
Air Defence Regiment
In 1986 there was some modest expansion of the territorial artillery when a new Air Defence Regiment was created, alongside four new batteries. Few years later however, two regiments merged and Air Defence Regiments reduced to three batteries. Air Defence role was lost in 2007 when the Regiment was re-roled under TA FAS as an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle General Support Regiment.
