Lancashire Artillery Volunteer Band
Lancashire Artillery Volunteer Band at Everton FC
The Lancashire Artillery Volunteer Band
The band are based in Bolton Lancs, the original home town of the Regiment.
The band provides musical support to official military engagements as well as many ex combatant association parades and dinners. Civilian engagements are welcome, and the band is equally at home marching or on the concert platform.
Civic & public engagements
The musicians come from all corners of the North West and from all walks of life. Included in the ranks are, accountants, a bus driver, a postman, a printer, teachers amongst others. The band enjoys the demands of a busy and varied schedule, meeting for Thursday weekly rehearsals, besides the round of military, civic and public engagements.
Over the years the band is proud to have encouraged junior members to join regular army bands and privileged to welcome many retiring members of the regular bands into service in the TA.
Her Majesty the Queen
While most engagements are performed in the north west area, the band lives up to the regimental motto, Ubique (everywhere), by travelling far beyond its local area. Previously the band has appeared in Germany, Jersey, Kuwait, Gibraltar and Ascension island. High profile engagements undertaken by the band as part of the massed bands of the Royal Artillery, include Horse Guards Parade (1986 and 1998), before Her Majesty the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh's Birthday Review in Hyde Park (1991) and Farewell to Woolwich Ceremony (2007).
