We are an Multi Launch Rocket System Battery, based close to the Inner Ring Road and First Direct Arena in Leeds. We are the only Artillery Reserve unit in Yorkshire. We recruit in Leeds, Bradford and Sheffield and throughout Yorkshire.

269 Battery

Our Soldiers

The precision fire soldier needs to be intelligent, self-reliant and able to work in small teams. They have to understand and be able to operate, drive and fix complex systems, such as the MLRS self propelled loader/launcher and the Man Support Vehicle truck, as well as navigating and communicating across the battlefield. They have to keep up with the developing battle while being ready to respond, at a moment's notice to a call for fire, which could be in support of troops in contact.

269 Battery History

Gun Restoration

Tracing our history back to the 1860s, the battery has served in both World Wars, on the Western Front and in many other theatres. Members of the Battery recently commemorated the service of our predecessors by restoring a 25 pounder gun.
