205 Battery

Our Soldiers

The precision fire soldier needs to be intelligent, self-reliant and able to work in small teams. They have to understand and be able to operate, drive and fix complex systems, such as the MLRS self propelled loader/launcher and the Man Support Vehicle truck, as well as navigating and communicating across the battlefield. They have to keep up with the developing battle while being ready to respond, at a moment's notice to a call for fire, which could be in support of troops in contact.

205 Battery History

205 Battery History

We were formed in the 19th Century to defend the coast of the North East against threatened invasion. Our links to the local community remain very strong and a team from the Battery recently restored one of the vintage coastal guns as part of a community project.
