A career in the Royal Artillery is loaded with action and career opportunities. We have the widest variety of career opportunities in the British Army.

In the Army, training is about more than teaching you when to salute and how to use a gun. It doesn't matter whether you passed your exams at school; now you will be training for real skills as a soldier. We will give you the time and the back-up to earn qualifications such as NVQs (or SVQs), City & Guilds, BTECs and degrees. We will help you get practical qualifications, like your driving, motorbike or HGV licence.

The Royal Artillery offers its Soldiers unrivalled variety and there are thirteen jobs to choose from like:

AS90 Gunner

"Live firing is the best part of the job. Doing what you are trained to do and controlling a weapon as sophisticated and powerful as the AS90 feels fantastic."

UAS Operator

"I work where the images from the UAS are viewed. As the eyes of the Army, the information I find is used by commanders to make vital decisions about what to do with their men on the ground."

Gunner Artillery Logistics

"I transport GMLRS rocket pods and drive a DROPS, the Army's main all terrain truck. You need a HGV licence to do my job and I got mine through the Royal Artillery."

Soldiering can be dangerous work, nobody in the Gunners would deny that. But your training will prepare you for every eventuality that you are likely to face.
