Bdr Lee Moss
I joined the Army in 1999, after my basic training at the Army Training Regiment in Pirbright. I joined the Royal Artillery and was posted to 16 Regiment and have spent my career to date in 30 Bty (Roger's Company). While in the battery I have deployed to Cyprus on the United Nations Tour in a dismounted infantry role and a Rapier Command Post detachment commander in the Falkland Islands. I have also been on exercise and trained in Germany, Canada, the United States and Sweden.
During my time I've had the opportunity to fire a Queen's Birthday Salute and have participated on Public Duties at Leeds Castle. The Army has also given me qualifications in Leadership and Management and an NVQ in Telecommunications.
By far the most challenging thing I've done so far was my Bombardier Leadership Course; this really pushed me to my limits, physically and mentally but the reward was more pay and responsibility.
My job is very busy, as I monitor an array of sensors that detect hostile attacks and also maintain the power supply generators that are vital for the system. When I get time, I learn Spanish and train in the gym. Looking to the future I would like to become a Sergeant Major Instructor Signals.
