Other, Teacher Guide, Workshops
These workshops synthesise what we hope are the most helpful aspects of leadership into a framework that allows students to apply a set of clear ideas and see useful results, without getting bogged down in too much theory. It is based on the concept of transformational leadership.
In the workshops, students explore:
• Who and what is a leader?
• Sources of influence and personal style
• Values that underpin leadership, including integrity, courage and discipline
• Leadership skills, including empathy, counselling, consulting and decision-making
• Leadership tasks, including creating a vision, support, guidance, conflict resolution and reflection.
Each workshop includes a series of short individual and group tasks that encourage reflection and development in each student’s own leadership context. Students are encouraged to support each other and use insights from other contexts to inform and inspire their own ideas and actions.
