Pte Kelly Wolstencroft and Molly

Private Kelly Wolstencroft with her black Labrador Molly.
Twenty four-year-old Kelly Wolstencroft from Clayton, Manchester, has been a RAVC dog handler since 2007 and says that the experience in the regiment has really grown.
Kelly has completed a number of courses including Protection, Vehicle Search and All Arms Explosive Search. Her dog Molly has also undergone specialist training in Cyprus to prepare her for the dusty and hot conditions in Afghanistan.
Having conducted training in preparation for deployment, she said: "I will probably be based in a FOB (forward operating base) in Helmand Province doing patrols, securing compounds and clearing routes.
"Our capability provides reassurance to the soldiers in the FOBs and potentially save lives. Molly is also a massive morale booster for the boys as it's something from home - a bit of normality in an abnormal place."
Kelly and Molly have now deployed to Afghanistan on Op HERRICK 12.
