Golden Hello Incentive

RAMC Trades Eligible for a Golden Hello

A Golden Hello of £4500 is paid to RAMC applicants who bring certified medical qualifications to the RAMC and who are fully registered with their respective Medical Councils. 

This obviates the need for Phase 2 training that might otherwise take as long as 5 years to complete. 


The Golden Hello is currently only available to the following RAMC soldier trades:

  • Biomedical Scientist
  • Operating Department Practitioner
  • Clinical Physiologist
  • Radiographer

Applicants receive the payment upon successful completion of Phase 1 training at the Army Training Regiment Pirbright. 

They do not attend Phase 2 training but undertake a period of induction in their first unit.

The authorisation of the Golden Hello Scheme will run until 31 March 2012.
