Where we are

The RY has 5 reconnaissance 'sabre' squadrons based all over the South of England, each of which has upto 90 TA officers and soldiers.

Our Regimental Headquarters is based in Croydon with upto 64 TA members doing a wide range of command, technical and support roles. Our Regimental Band has 35 TA musicians and is based in Central London.

  • Regimental Headquarters, the Royal Yeomanry

    RHQ is actively recruiting now, having recently grown in size and range of jobs on offer. While we train people without any past military experience, we are always particularly interested in meeting anyone with former Regular or past TA military service.

  • A (Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry) Squadron, Royal Yeomanry

    A (Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry) Squadron is based in Swindon and recruits from all over Wiltshire and neighbouring counties. Our officers and soldiers come from all walks of life in the towns and villages of Wiltshire - and even further afield.

  • B (Leicestershire & Derbyshire Yeomanry) Squadron, Royal Yeomanry

    B (Leicestershire & Derbyshire Yeomanry) Squadron, based in Leicester, is one of the most exciting and vibrant Midlands TA units. We recruit from a wide area, drawing our members from all over Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire and beyond.

  • C (Kent & Sharpshooters Yeomanry) Squadron, Royal Yeomanry

    C (KSY) Squadron based in Croydon is the south east's only TA Royal Armoured Corps unit outside of Central London.  Our role is to provide flexible soldiers with specialist reconnaissance skills able to use the Army's latest equipment.

  • S (Sherwoord Rangers Yeomanry) Squadron, Royal Yeomanry

    S (SRY) Squadron is the only TA Royal Armoured Corps unit covering Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. We are based in Carlton, Nottingham, and train using the latest equipment to provide the Regular Army with speciaist reconnaissance soldiers and officers.

    W Squadron is Central London's only TA Royal Armoured Corps unit, a reconnaissance squadron with a prestigious history. Our soldiers come from all walks of life and are drawn from all over London, and beyond.

  • The (Inns of Court and City Yeomanry) Band of the Royal Yeomanry

    The Regimental Band of the Royal Yeomanry consists of around 35 TA musicians and performs all over the world. It is based near Liverpool Street Station in London.
