Scottish public ceremonial duties

The Regiment has a lively and exciting ceremonial calendar, which includes playing a part in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo each year.

In the last year, the regiment has provided a ceremonial function to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. This included a ceremonial riding troop and a Guard, which participated in parades across Scotland and culminated in the regiment marching down the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.

The regiment also supports the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and this year provided the tattoo support group, which not only provided the honour guard each night, but also helped behind the scenes in ensuring the show was a success. The regiment’s commitment was recognised by the awarding of the Tattoo sword to the best act.

The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards is committed to further ceremonial events in Scotland and will continue to do so as part of the military community in Fife and the rest of Scotland.
