WHATS HAPPENING NOW
The Regiment continues to provide first class specialist CBRN support using the armoured Fuchs Recce and Survey vehicle, IBDS and Light Role Teams. The Regiment has had elements deployed on operations continually since 1999 and has recently deployed H Sqn to Basra in the infantry role.

This year will include a Regimental deployment to train in BATUS, Canada in preparation to provide support to the NATO Reaction Force (NRF) during 2009. We are currently working hard to train people in the Para and Commando roles to support 16 Air Assault and 3 Comando Brigades. 

A Sqadron remain in the armoured role and support all major exercises on Salisbury Plain Training Area (SPTA) using Challenger 2 and CVR(T) Scimitar. Away from work, the Regiment is currently RAC Sports champions and has recently won the RAC/RA Nordic Ski-ing competition.

THE FUTURE
The First has an exciting and challenging future. We will continue to grow in size until we reach full strength in 2009 and look forward to arrival of impressive new equipment for the LRTs.

In the current climate operations are certain both in and out of role. There is no doubt that the Regiment will remain First in everything it does.
