Our Role

In whatever role they might currently be operating, every Regiment in the Royal Armoured Corps, be it Regular or Yeomanry, takes enormous pride in the history and traditions of its forebears.

RAC - Op Telic - CR2

Armoured

Armoured regiments equipped with Challenger 2 (CR2) Main Batle Tank (MBT) with its battle wining combination of firepower, protection and mobility deliver Shock Action wherever it is required on the battlefield.

CVR(T) Scimitar

Reconnaissance

Formation Reconnaissance (Recce) is equipped with Scimitar and is trained to gather critical information from anywhere on the battlefield. Whether mounted or dismounted, recce soldiers take great pride in seeing without being seen.

Fuchs - CBRN

CBRN

The Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Regiment (Jt CBRN Regt) with its Fuchs can detect hazardous materials in virtually any environment. The Regiment plays a key role in delivering essential Force Protection.

HCMR London

Ceremonial

Unique, the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR) provides the Queen's Life Guard and is key to many State ceremonial occasions. In addition to their mounted duties, its soldiers are fully trained RAC crewmen.
