Based in Cannock and Manchester, 116 Provost Company is a fully integrated sub unit of 4 RMP, a Regular RMP Regiment and, as such, provides support to 101 Logistic Brigade. Since 2003 individuals within the Company have undertaken, as volunteers, operational tours with the Regular Army in the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. Members of the unit have also undertaken specialist Close Protection tours worldwide.
 

Training

The role of general policing duties has changed considerably since the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

RMP now find themselves in the front line, in support of the fighting troops conducting close combat policing, providing surety for detention operations, close protection, host nation police monitoring, forensic and evidence gathering and acting as first responders for the investigation of attacks on British troops.

As part of a Regular RMP Regiment the Company trains alongside its Regular Army counterparts and individual NCOs have the opportunity to undertake policing and operational duties in local Garrison areas. Training covers the full spectrum of essential individual soldier and Military Police skills.

The Company participates in adventurous training and sport. Members of the unit also actively compete in military shooting competitions at varying levels.
 

Entry Requirements

We are looking for fit and motivated individuals with the ability to lead by example. Individuals must possess the determination and commitment to excel within the Territorial Army.

Candidates must be between 17.5 to 43 years of age. Candidates must have a full driving licence and no unspent criminal convictions or cautions.
 

Training Nights

Cannock: We parade every Tuesday evening between 19:30 - 21:30 hrs at Guyldford House TA Centre.
Manchester: We parade every Tuesday evening between 19:30 - 21:30 hrs at Belle Vue TA Centre.
