ALS is part of the Adjutant General's Corps within the British Army. We only recruit solicitors, barristers and advocates qualified in England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. This means having completed a qualifying degree, normally a 2.1 or above (i.e. law degree, or other suitable degree plus a GDL/CPE); post-graduate studies (LPC or BVC/BPTC) and a 12-month pupillage (if a barrister) or a 2-year training contract (if a solicitor).

Successful candidates, subject to suitable medical, security and referee clearances will be offered a 4 year Short Service Commission (with an 18 month initial probationary period) with the Army Legal Services to commence mid September 2012.
