Educational Training Services
Educational and Training Services (ETS) officers provide learning and development opportunities for serving personnel wherever they are around the world.
Educating the Army
The Army's most valuable resource is its trained personnel and a significant proportion of the annual Defence budget is allocated to educating and training soldiers and officers.
Soldiers can access a broad range of educational services, including advice and guidance, courses for promotion, personal development and Basic Skills course from the ETS around the world.
Training Development Advisors (TDA) from the ETS Branch provide specialist advice in military training, education and professional development. They also advise, assess and develop training policies, the instructors and the standards so that soldiers and officers get the best education and training they can get during their career in the Army.
TDAs work in training schools, headquarters and policy directorates at single-service and Defence level.
To be in the TDA, you would develop a specialist knowledge in adult learning, needs analysis, business case development, task analysis, and the design, delivery and evaluation of training and education.
Officer Tutors
A number of Officer Tutors (OT) are located within each Division and they are subject matter experts in defence, international affairs and / or war studies. Their key role is to support officers in their personal and professional development.
Army Library and Information Service (ALIS)
ALIS is an integral part of the ETS function and provides soldiers and officers with a comprehensive library and information service through a network of over 60 libraries worldwide.
