Wales University Officer Training Corps

Wales University Officer Training Corps (WUOTC) develops the leadership potential of selected university students whilst;raising awareness of the ethos, values and career opportunities of the Army.

It is open to all full time students and regardless of interest in a career in the Regular or Territorial Army, there are numerous opportunities to undertake interesting challenges and training whilst being paid for it.

Freshers' Fayre

Learn more about the WUOTC and drop by during Freshers' Fayre at your respective university to speak to staff and current cadets where each company has a stand. They can tell you about the Assessment Weekend and what you need to know.

Assessment Weekend

The assessment weekend is at the end of September, held at your university's local TA centre, and gives you the chance to look at us before finally deciding to join. The programme for each day includes:

  • An introduction to the OTC
  • Introductory interview
  • Discussion groups
  • A social function

Successful applicants will be invited to join us for Induction on the following weekend (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon). Transport will be provided. The programme for the weekend includes:

  • Documentation
  • Medicals
  • Fitness assessment
  • Attestation
  • Issue of clothing and equipment
  • A social function
  • Presentation on the unit and its personalities
