Tayforth

Officer Cadet Christopher Murphy - latest recipient of the Duke of Westminster's Sword.

Welcome to the Tayforth UOTC microsite. I hope you find it useful and relevant. While we will endeavor to show you as much as we can, the best way to find out more and get answers to any questions is to come and see us. So please use the contact numbers to get in touch.

The UOTC is a great organisation, and I have no doubts that you will benefit a lot from becoming a member, if you are good enough.

I must stress that we are not a recruiting organisation, and neither are you going to be sent off to war. But we want to expose you to some of the opportunities available to you, at the same time helping your own personal development, while setting challenging and fun training.

This is best exemplified by looking at my mission statement: "To help selected students obtain the best possible degree, while exposing them to the ethos, values and career opportunities within the British Army."

So if you think you have what it takes to become a member, then get in touch. Normally, we only recruit in the September of each year, during Freshers Fayres. However, if you have a military background for example you were a member of the Combined Cadet Force, before going to university, we may be able to take you outside the normal recruiting period.

Because training is progressive, we can't just accept people joining at any time.So please now tour the rest of the site, and if at the end, you are still interested, contact the relevant member of the permanent staff.

Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Morgan RE, Commanding Officer, Tayforth UOTC.
