Supporting charities

Bristol UOTC officer cadets taking part in fundraising activities.

Every year Bristol UOTC nominates up to three charities that will benefit from fund raising events throughout the academic year.

Cadets often volunteer to walk, run or take part in team events to further support our chosen charities.

Bristol UOTC has chosen to support the following charities this year (2011-2012):

Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal

Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal is the only charity fundraising exclusively for the Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to provide comforts and facilities for patients and their families in the hospital.

Royal British Legion

The Royal British Legion provides welfare to the whole Armed Forces family - serving, ex-service and their dependants. We also campaign on a range of issues, are the Custodian of Remembrance and run the annual Poppy Appeal.

Help for Heroes

H4H provides direct, practical support for our wounded. We fund projects and initiatives that make a real difference to the lives of our wounded heroes.

This year Bristol UOTC also chose to support the South West MS Therapy Centre by entering 3 teams into the annual MS Challenge, in South Wales. The teams completed the arduous course, and through sponsorship, raffles and donations raised over £1600.
