Adventurous Training develops leadership skills and individual self-confidence, while at the same time being great fun.
Alongside this, Cambridge UOTC maintains a newly-broadened programme of leadership, sporting, fitness and charity (specifically for our affiliated Army Benevolent Fund, The Soldier's Charity) activities.

Cambridge UOTC has also developed into one of the strongest minor units in sport. 3 members won BAE Systems Army Sports Scholarships for 2012. Also during 2011-12:

Cambridge UOTC became Inter-Services Fencing Champions

OCdt Emma Byatt (Jesus College, Cambridge) became the Army Ladies and Inter-Services Fencing Champion 2011-12 and toured with the Combined Services Team in Canada

Josh Mouland (King's College, Cambridge) became the current Number 2 ranked Decathlete in the Combined Services and UK Double Decathlon Champion (2011-12)

OCdt Zoe Rutterford (Darwin College, Cambridge) became Army Modern Pentathlon Champion 2011-12

OCdt Claire Wheatman (UEA) became the GB Ski-Cross Junior Champion 2010 and is training with the GB Slalom and GS Ski Team 2011-12

OCdt Laura Plant (St John's College, Cambridge) was selected for England Lacrosse

OCdt Polly Keen (Downing College, Cambridge) gained a GB top-10 athlete (distance running) ranking for Steeplechase and a top 20 ranking for Cross-Country
The OTC contains a great many other individual sporting stars from the University especially in Rowing, Rugby, Modern Pentathlon (the Commanding Officer is also Chairman of Army Modern Pentathlon), Running and Skiing.
