With over 16,000 men and women in the Corps, we've got plenty of people who are interested in everything from athletics to yachting. As a soldier you will be paid to play sport as part of your daily routine and you'll have the opportunity to travel all over the world to represent the RLC, the Army and perhaps even your country.

As an officer as well as playing sport, you'll be leading, organising and managing large sports events, ongoing training, and sporting competitions.

'Evidently, the Army take their sport rather seriously, and I'm now spending my third season in the Alps as the 1 LSR Alpine Ski Team captain. I've genuinely had the most fantastic time on the ski team.' Lieutenant Shepherd.

'I have been nominated for the Army Athletics Captain, competed at the Commonwealth Games 2006, Captained and competed at the All African Games 2003, and set a new Nigerian record for the Decathlon in 2003. I continue to compete at unit level and am currently engaged in training the Regimental Team for the forthcoming Corps Athletics event.' Corporal Okoroafo
