MOG(V) training

As you would expect for a specialist unit such as this, there is a system to recruit the best people with the right qualities for the job. MOG(V) is expanding rapidly and on the look-out for highly capable individuals from a variety of backgrounds.

Selection

We will take on appropriate individuals irrespective of background, providing they pass the selection tests so please do contact us, whether you are a civilian or have military experience.

If you have experience or an interest in military media operations, or the aptitude, interest and some professional experience in a relevant field then joining the TA and the Media Operations Group (V) could be an exciting and rewarding challenge. Contact us to be considered for our next selection board.

Specialist skills

The main difference between MOG(V) and most other TA units is that individuals use their civilian skills to directly assist UK forces. Our people work in a broad spectrum of civilian jobs such as in PR, photography, marketing, broadcasting, and journalism.

Working closely with, or as part of the media in this way, gives our specialists an insight which can really benefit military commanders.

Subject matter experts within the unit train the other members of MOG(V) in their field of expertise including media production, media analysis techniques and presentation skills. The combined effect is to produce many rounded individuals who constantly develop and grow as media operators.

This in turn ensures that MOG(V) delivers a unique source of public relations understanding and talent to the military.

Specialist media skills training can include photography, video camera work, interview technique, TV editing, radio production and effective presentation, as well as attendance at specialist military courses.

Contact MOG(V) for more information on joining us.
